The Come Back Kid!

In more ways than one, Nick came back to poker tonight. Also making an appearance tonight was Gloria.

It was a blazing start for Dustin. In quick succession he put out Markus and myself and did so with huge hands. After taking us out at our table we combined tables and Gloria was sent packing next. Ish, joining the game late as he was still working when we started was ousted next. Devin was another victim of Dustin's amazing run. Lisa was out next followed by Justin. Bobby returned to the top three but was done in when the blinds and one had in particular conspired to deal him out. This left the heads up between an on fire Dustin and a barely hanging on Nick. The outcome seem predetermined but Nick wasn't having it. Good cards and aggressive play meant Nick not only came back to poker but made an amazing come back in tonight's game to win! Welcome back Nick! Here's the night by the numbers.

11. Markus 1
10. Jeff 2
9. Gloria 3
8. Ish 4
7. Devin 5
6. Chris 6
5. Lisa 7
4. Justin 8
3. Bobby 10 (including Chrus' bounty point)
2. Dustin 11
1. Nick 13

It's good to see some old familiar faces around the poker table again. Chris maintains his lead over Bobby but next week we could see a new leader atop the stats. I think the polls may make a come back as well. Until then may all your cards be live and your pots be monsters!

Chris doesn't like to share!

So he did everything he could last night to make sure he wouldn't have to, including winning! Dustin never caught a hand and was first out. A very disgruntled Devin, never seeing a seven, was expelled from heaven by me! He was not happy! But I was, cause I got his booty, I mean bounty point. Bobby broke a long streak of making the top 3 and was out next. Lisa played well and settled for 4th place. Justin B. made his first ever top 3! That left me and Chris. He never let go of his chip lead and when the blinds hit 1000 I was done for. Here are the numbers.

7. Dustin 1
6. Devin 2
5. Bobby 3
4. Lisa 4
3. Justin B. 5
2. Jeff 8 (including Devin's bounty point)
1. Chris 9

Chris, having won his first game in phase 3, once again sits alone atop the leader board. No ties this week. Until next week, may all your cards be live and your pots be monsters!

Family Reunion

Mark and Jake made a long over due return to the poker tables tonight and that made for a nice crowd for the dreaded double points night. Let's get right to the action.

Last week's winner suffered the disdain of being first out and Markus gave up his bounty point to Bobby. Next out was Ish who was trying to impress his new boyfriend yet failed miserably and exited next. Dustin didn't fare much better and left the game next. Jake remembered how to play and was out next. At least I wasn't first out and for this current version of TNP have as many wins as I do wet dreams! Mark, being the nice Christian man he is was gracious in placing 6th. Justin achieved many of his goals for the night and was out next. Lisa, a little tipsy, played well but had to leave the table with 16 points. The top three included our two top players in the standings, leaving their positions intact for the most part. The only question was who would take the top spot. Chris was out next and Bobby, having not only taken Markus' bounty point but adding yet another for quad 7's made the heads up against Devin. These two have gone heads up a few times before and as in those previous games, the battle waged until Devin's chip lead was too great to overcome. Here's the breakdown according to the numbers.

11. Markus 2
10. Ish 4
9. Dustin 6
8. Jake 8
7. Jeff 10
6. Mark 12
5. Justin 14
4. Lisa 16
3. Chris 18
2. Bobby 26 (including Markus' bounty point and a bonus point for quad 7s)
1. Devin 26

A few changes in the leader board and next week's game will decide our top player. Until then may all your cards be live and your pots be monsters!

Markus Debuts

Unable to capitalize on his chip lead last week, Markus would not be denied this week. And to prove it he took out Devin early on and received his bounty point for the effort. Next to exit was Ish and at the same time Dustin as Markus delivered another death blow taking out the first three single handed. Chris held on for as long as he could but left next. Making the top 3 seems Bobby's usual fare and the heads up came down to me and tonight's winner, for his first ever win at TNP, Markus. Amazing how well he plays when he doesn't have too much to drink! Here's the breakdown by the numbers.

7. Devin 1
6. Ish 2
5. Dustin 3
4. Chris 4
3. Bobby 5
2. Jeff 7
1. Markus 10 (including Devin's bounty point)

Next week is double points night (blah!) So until then may all your cards be live and your pots be monsters!

To arms! To arms!

The clarion call rang out on this 4th of July edition of TNP and the revolution toppled our 2 week winner. In fact he was the first eliminated and Dustin had to give up his 2 bounty points. Lisa was soon to follow and Justin was satisfied with third out since it improved over his previous week's performance. Ish was goaded into calling a hand Devin deftly played but was consoled with Dustin's 2 bounty points. I was out next then Chris. The top 3 came down to Bobby, Markus and Devin. Markus had good hands but was always bested by this week's winner Devin. Welcome to the winners circle Devin. Now, the numbers.

9. Dustin 1
8. Lisa 2
7. Justin 3
6. Ish 6 (including Dustin's 2 bounty points)
5. Jeff 5
4. Chris 6
3. Bobby 8 (including 1 bonus point for quad 6s)
2. Markus 9
1. Devin 11

Everyone have a safe and happy July 4th celebration. Until next week, may all your cards be live and your pots be monsters!
